Evan Barton

Evan has worked in Tulsa’s economic development space since returning to the city in 2020. He began in operations and entrepreneurial development at Atento Capital before moving into talent attraction and development at inTulsa Initiatives, where his approach has always centered the unique strengths of Tulsa’s ecosystem. Evan attended Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, earning a bachelor’s degree in Native American Studies with minors in French and Sociology. Locally, he interned with City Year Tulsa in winter 2019, supporting corps member learning and development. He also interned with the College Board in New York City, where he analyzed and recommended strategies to expand the organization’s outreach and impact with Indigenous students through program development and resource provision.

Evan’s passion for his work at Campus Tulsa comes from the value he sees in creating accessible, on-the-job experiences for students. Recognizing that many students have historically lacked access to internships, he is committed to helping Campus Tulsa diversify and expand internship opportunities for any student seeking experience in Tulsa.

He strives to be compassionate, authentic, and empathetic in and out of the workplace. At Campus Tulsa, Evan manages social media, email communications with employers, students, and university partners, and supports data infrastructure. His favorite things to do in Tulsa include seeing touring acts in the Arts District, attending events hosted by local artists and organizations, and spending time with his family, who live nearby in Tulsa.
